The Bamboo Hut Number 1 2020
strolling the beach
a shell cut my barefoot -
our
last sunset together
a cure for everything
ashen morning -
wish I could be mist
to swirl up
from this room as quiet as
your burial chamber
night winds
covered everything with leaves -
you
never knew how to hide
your lies so well
a shell cut my barefoot -
our
last sunset together
a cure for everything
ashen morning -
wish I could be mist
to swirl up
from this room as quiet as
your burial chamber
night winds
covered everything with leaves -
you
never knew how to hide
your lies so well

Never Ending Story / First English-Chinese Bilingual Haiku and Tanka Blog
no questions
about the diagnosis --
she decorates
the Christmas tree
on a September night
Chinese Translation (Traditional)
沒有詢問
有關診斷的問題 --
在九月的一個晚上
她裝飾
一顆聖誕樹
Chinese Translation (Simplified)
没有询问
有关诊断的问题 --
在九月的一个晚上
她装饰
一颗圣诞树
Translation and comment by Chen-ou Liu.
The opening lines set the theme and emotional context while the unexpected yet poignant last line sparks the reader's emotions and reflection on the (true) meaning of a Christmas tree.
A fresh take on Christmas tanka.

Allegro Poetry Magazine , issue 18
shaken off elsewhere in the world
has blossomed
by my door steps –
I know, you aren’t here to stay
un mac scuturat
în altă parte-a lumii
a inflorit
la mine, lângă trepte -
iar n-ai venit să rămâi

Tanka Society Of America - Ribbons Spring/Summer 2018
this pressed flower
still stirs me...
if I were a leaf,
I'd become your book mark
after death
xxx
floarea presată
încă mă mai tulbură...
dac-aș fi frunză,
ți-aș rămâne semn de carte
după moarte

CATTAILS - September 2016
A midnight train
dwindling with you...
only my eyes
need several minutes
to adjust to darkness
Un tren de noapte
se tot duce cu tine...
doar ochii
mi se adaptează
rapid la întuneric

The Bamboo Hut - journal of english language tanshi. Autumn 2015
dead leaves
carried away
by the wheels of a chair...
smell of sap
of all colours
2
dusty attic -
the label of a wedding dress
wedging
the trunk lid
ajar
3
the chrysanthemums
cling on to each other
under the snow duvet...
wrapped in your scarf
I take my coffee
4
a cruise ship
hulked out
of the fog -
the chestnut seller
trying to talk posh
5
a postal card
for my birthday
reminds me
of
your plastic words...
6
summer
fun -
a thorn
strums
my hair

The Magnolia review - volume 1, Issue 2, July 2015
1
at the hairdresser
before
her first day of chemo...
she picked up one shorn curl
from the floor
2
moaning
about my misspent
youth ...
galling rhythm on his cup
with the teaspoon
3
snowing constantly
for three days ...
a cassock makes path
to my neighbours
through the snowdrifts
4
magnolia buds
across the window
shape
a sudden snow layer -
preemies born room
5
paralysis
in remission —
tempting the ants
to climb
my leg
6
funeral procession
gobbled up
by a sand storm...
your last exhale kept home
in a red balloon
